Meet Tanisha Patel:
Meet our Customer Service and Technical Compliance Specialist, Tanisha! (what a mouthful!) Before joining Micro-Fresh ®, Tanisha worked in insurance. Tanisha is also a recent Forensic Science Graduate and her interest in Chemistry is what drew her to the role at Micro-Fresh®.
1) What does a typical day at Micro-Fresh® look like for you?
At the beginning of the day I like to check any unread emails and make a to-do list so I know exactly what I have to do for the day. The rest of my day usually consists of preparing samples for clients and for testing, sending over technical information to clients to get a better understanding of our products and making sure that our stock is up to date.
2) What is your favourite aspect of your role?
I’m still settling into the role but so far I really enjoy learning about the range of Micro-Fresh® products. I also enjoy testing samples and using the detector pen to see if Micro-Fresh® is present. In the last couple of weeks, I’ve realised how fast paced the company is and I am proud to be a part of a company that is constantly growing.
3) Do you have a favourite Micro-Fresh® product?
All of them! Micro-Fresh® has an amazing range of applications on surfaces and fabrics and keeps them fresher for longer. I couldn’t possibly choose!
4) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I have always seen myself in the scientific field based on my Forensic Science degree. However, I am going to see where this role takes me so I can grow my skills and it chemistry-based concepts that are really interesting. My role is also very customer service focussed which I enjoy due to my previous job as a customer service representative. I love that I am able to combine my customer service and chemistry skills along with learning new skills is great and it will help me push myself further to grow as an individual.
5 ) What is one thing that surprised you about working at
How fast the company is growing on a global scale and seeing its potential is something that has totally taken me by surprise.
6) What is your productivity trick at the workplace?
Making a to do list every day and each week. And being able to see it all in one place really helps me be more productive because I am clear on what my task is. I usually make sure I get the more urgent and bigger tasks done at the beginning of the day so it leaves room for any other urgent tasks that may pop up during the day.
7 ) What is the biggest preconception people have of you in
People are usually shocked that I have a degree in Forensic Science as it is not a very common degree but I think it’s a very fascinating area of science that is growing as technology develops.
Little more personal
8) Do you enjoy any hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy a good read and I love music. I am passionate about health, especially research on Hypothyroidism, because it has impacted my life and I like to learn about how I can be healthier so have more energy to live a balanced life of work and other passion projects. I also love watching Formula 1 qualifying and racing on the weekends.
9) What is your favourite thing about working at Micro-Fresh®?
My favourite thing about working at Micro-Fresh® is interacting and working with the team because they have the same vision for the company. They all have a positive attitude which creates a great working environment to be in.
10) What’s your favourite TV show—the one you’re always watching on repeat?
I don’t have a favourite TV programme, I usually just browse through Netflix and see what is trending. I really enjoyed binge watching Stranger Things.
11) If you could snap your fingers and be an expert in something what would it be?
I would want to be an expert in Hypothyroidism and health however I really enjoy the process of learning to be an expert.
12) If you could write a book about your life what would it be called?
Underdog. Having had people doubt me all the time makes me more determined to prove to myself that I am capable of my goals and aspirations.

To be 1% better each day, even if it’s through a simple small act like reading an extra page of a book or taking a longer walk.
