Meet Tyler Royle:

Meet our Graphic Designer, Tyler! Tyler graduated from De Montfort University last year with a BA (Hons) Graphic Design. Tyler is known throughout the office for having a wild side and has a keen interest in climbing, but we can't tell you what he climbs! Read on to find out more about our crazy designer...
1) What does a typical day at Micro-Fresh® look like for you?
My typical day usually starts with a coffee and preparing everything for what I have to do in the day. Other than that, every day is a different story, there is never a slow day and I love it! My days consist of anything from making graphics to animating adverts and videos for socials.
2) What is your favourite aspect of your role?
It was quite daunting at the start, but I really enjoy the amount of creative freedom I am given with my work. Stepping out of university, I was expecting to end up on a strict production line, drawing everything to someone’s exact specifications, it turns out Micro-Fresh® is quite the opposite. There is obviously a list of things to complete and a general direction but that is all. It gives me an even bigger sense of pride when I see the company growing so much.
3) Do you have a favourite Micro-Fresh® product?
I think they are all amazing and I don’t really do favourites but as I like being active, anything sportswear or footwear is a big win for me.
4) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
As a person who thinks it's too stressful to plan a month in advance, 5 years seems completely out of reach. Who knows what will happen between now and then but I’ll go with whatever life presents me and hopefully won’t end up in a homeless shelter.
5 ) What is one thing that surprised you about working at
I was so surprised at how small the team was. When I learnt how big the company is globally before the interview, I was expecting at least five times the amount of people working here.

6) What is your productivity trick at the workplace?
Caffeine doesn’t help me, and I’m trying to get better with to-do lists but I think it’s more of what I do outside of work that helps me with productivity at work. Eating well, keeping active and sleeping well where possible.
7 ) What is the biggest preconception people have of you in
your workplace?
It might not be the case with Micro-Fresh® but usually there is a preconception with me because of my degree in design and illustration that I can only draw pretty pictures. I promise I do have a couple of brain cells and can do other things as well.
Little more personal
8) Do you enjoy any hobbies outside of work?
I love movies, not only watching but I enjoy looking into the behind the scenes and how it all works. I also enjoy keeping active, whether that be climbing or cycling, I’m always willing to try new things.
9) What is your favourite thing about working at Micro-Fresh®?
The team of course! They were all so welcoming and the energy is great, it feels like I’ve been working here for so much longer than I have. Which is a good thing, if you were wondering.
10) What’s your favourite TV show—the one you’re always watching on repeat?
There is so many to choose from. I like to change things up constantly, so I don’t usually rewatch series. Dexter remains one of my favourites though.
11) If you could snap your fingers and be an expert in something what would it be?
I would love to be an expert in languages. One extra language would be great but imagine what doors would be opened if you knew them all.
12) If you could write a book about your life what would it be called?
How to reduce your life expectancy, the easy and the hard way.
13) What is one thing you’re trying to make a habit?
Sleep, after 22 years, good sleep still evades me.
Fun Facts
14) What is your favourite film?
Star Wars, don’t make choose between them, they’re all great in their own way.
15) What would be your go to karaoke song?
I try my best not to sing in front of anyone. Maybe if I had enough drinks, I could probably sing along to Gorillaz ‘Feel Good Inc.’
16) If you had to swap places with someone for the day who would it be?
I don’t know if I’d want to swap with anyone. Do animals count? It would be funny to swap with a pigeon for a day for a completely new point of view.
17) What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?
New Zealand has been at the top of the list for so long. It’s just beautiful and diverse, you get a bit of everything there.
18) Where’s your favourite place to eat?
Home. Something about your mum’s cooking that can’t be topped.
